Fort Caroline Located in Arlington, Jacksonville Florida.

My Thursday afternoon started off with me making my cup of coffee and heading out the door in search for Fort Caroline memorial in Jacksonville Florida. Fort Caroline was exactly 25 minutes from my house and is located in the northern Arlington area. I arrived at Fort Caroline park at 10am and made my way into the trail. I spent about 45 minutes walking around the park and taking pictures. I also did some research the day before to learn a little more about this fort before I explored it.  Fort Caroline was built in 1564 by the French ruler, Rene Goulaine de Laudonniere. This time period is important because at the time, the French were colonizing Florida in attempts to get ahead of Spain. According to the book, The History of Florida by Michael Gannon, The ruling of Fort Caroline did not last long.
